Strategic partner emphasis – Collaboration with First Responders
Community System Solutions was founded by Nick Margiotta to support communities in developing effective cross-system solutions related to crisis services and homelessness. Mr. Margiotta has recently retired from the Phoenix Police Department after serving twenty (20) years on the Department. He served as the Crisis Intervention Team Program Coordinator & Law-Enforcement/Behavioral Health Liaison advocating and changing the design of crisis services and delivery in a large metropolitan area. He has served on the Board of Directors for the International Crisis Intervention Training impacting our how law enforcement and behavioral health systems can collaborate together to create cost - effective solutions for addressing the needs of individuals and families in crisis. One of many accomplishments has been to work with behavioral health providers in understanding the “Cop Culture” so that the different systems can work together more effectively.
Strategic partner emphasis – Crisis system of care evaluation, planning, and implementation; and crisis intervention competency development and team coaching
Kappy Madenwald has over 20 years of clinical and administrative behavioral health experience primarily in the field of emergency services and including delivery of mobile crisis intervention and facility-based crisis stabilization services for children and adults. For the past ten (10) years Ms. Madenwald has provided a range of consultation services to federal, state and local government agencies, community mental health centers, hospitals, residential care programs and community collaboratives.
Much of her work is focused on the development/enhancement of modern and efficient crisis systems of care. She offers unique expertise in the evaluation, development, implementation and/or operation of community-based models of crisis intervention that result in creating close-to-home, person/family-centered and resolution-focused (rather than disposition-focused) care. These strategic approaches promote the use of less restrictive, voluntary alternatives to emergency department evaluation, inpatient hospitalization and/or residential treatment.
Ms. Madenwald provides crisis training/technical assistance to both leaders of systems/organizations as well as to the direct care service providers. She has extensive experience in crisis systems evaluation, design and implementation; embedding adult peer and parent support specialists within clinical teams; and crisis intervention competency development through the delivery of large group training and on-site team coaching.
Strategic partner emphasis – Value Based Contracting Financial Planning
Mr. Fett has worked in the health and human service industry for over twenty five (25) years providing innovative financial guidance to both provider organizations and state government. Mr. Fett is a Certified Public Accountant and has served as Chief Financial Officer to several organizations as an employee as well as on contracted basis for multiple organizations.
Mr. Fett has participated in many system redesign efforts contributing to overarching financial approach and rate setting methodology. Mr. Fett has assisted system partners develop financial models that support advancing the delivery system goals and outcome measures.
Strategic partner emphasis – Medicaid behavioral health programs and project management
Jen Vehonsky is Principal Consultant with Vehonsky consulting. Ms. Vehonsky has worked extensively in state government centrally involved with Medicaid planning and implementation including but not limited to project managing maintenance of state Medicaid plan, and 1115 demonstration waiver. She has lead complex projects implementing redesign of state regulating documents and implementation of redesign of Medicaid behavioral health system /services.
Ms. Vehonsky consulting experience includes but is not limited to specializing in Medicaid/Medicare Plans, behavioral healthcare, crisis services, proposal writing, program development, project management, Joint Commission Accreditation requirements, policy development, contract compliance, auditing, Arizona licensing of behavioral health facilities regulations, and special projects.
